Visit Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, and extend your journey with a tour by ship to Ilulissat
Combine a visit to the city, where many Danes and other foreigners work and live, and experience the Disco Bay with its many icebergs before going home.

Many has family or friends working in Nuuk, the capitol of Greenland. Visit them for 6 days and afterwards continue your tour on the spectacular journey along the west coast of Greenland towards Ilulissat, which awaits you with its many huge icebergs. The tour starts by air to Kangerlussuaq, where there is a stop for a single night at the youth hostel Old Camp. Kangerlussuaq is situated close to the Ice Cap, why an excursion to this point will be an obvious beginning of many experiences to this fantastic country.

The following day you continue to Nuuk, where you, hopefully, will meet family or friends eagerly waiting and having looked forward to show you their city. For the same reason accommodation in Nuuk is not included as most of you will be accommodated privately at your hostesses.

After six days together with your faimly or friends in Nuuk it is time to continue your journey to see and experience even more of Greenland. We go on board the coast ship, which nice and easy, almost in a majestic pace takes you to Ilulissat. The sail takes two days, giving you rich opportunity to relax, while the nature around you changes. As we move further and further north, we meet more and more icebergs and the midnight sun gives the whole scenery a fantastic view, making it difficult to go to bed in the comfortable external cabins.

With the experiences from this fantastic two-days sail you arrive in Ilulissat, which with its big and famous Ice Fiord has become a natural centre in Northgreenland for tourism, trade as well as politics. Spend the days here on shorter or longer trekkingtours to the Ice Fiord, visit the birth home of Knud Ramussen, which now is a museum, and take one of the many sails, bringing you even closer to the gigantic icebergs. Hotel Icefiord, which is the base during your stay in Ilulissat, is situated such as all rooms have a view to the ice and the ocean. After another 4 days with intense experiences close to the Ice Fiord, the journey takes you back to Denmark with transit in Kangerlussuaq.

Day 1 Departure from Copenhagen arriving at Kangerlussuaq in the morning local time. Accommodation at the youth hostel Old Camp.
Day 2 By air to Nuuk. Private accommodation.
Day 8 Departure by ship to Ilulissat on "cabin"-class
Day 10 Arriving at Ilulissat, accommodation at Hotel Icefiord.
Day 14 By air to Denmark.
