Suddenly you see it – 18 small rocky islands in the middle of the Atlantic. For many this is the mark of the unspoiled nature, the rich birdlife and the fantastic cliffs, protecting the islands from the harsh climate. And it is impressive standing at the top of a 700 metres high mountain, looking at the troubled ocean and just let the wind fill your lungs with fresh air. That is a fantastic experience and good for your soul.

Here you find deep fiords and narrow sounds, and never are you more than 5 km from the ocean. The distances on the Faroe Islands are not far, on the other hand you can on an ordinary day experience both sunshine, fog, rain and snow – the weather is most likely quite different on the other side of the mountain. You never know what to expect – and that's probably the most charming with the Faroe Island.
